וְכֵן אִם נִשְׁמַע עַל בֵּית הַמְחֻתָּן שֶׁלּוֹ, כִּי הוּא בֵּית פְּרִיצּוּת, וְדָבָר זֶה יָדוּעַ שֶׁהוּא סִבָּה גְּדוֹלָה לְהַפְסִיד עַל יְדֵי זֶה הַתַּכְלִית הַנִּרְצֶה, גַּם כֵּן צָרִיךְ לְגַלּוֹת דָּבָר זֶה, וּבָזֶה אֵין צָרִיךְ הַפְּרָטִים הַנַּל, (ועיֵּן בִּבאר מַיִם חיִּים סָעִיף קָּטָן ט'). רַק שֶׁיִּתְבּוֹנֵן, אִם יִהְיוּ דְּבָרָיו נִשְׁמָעִים, דִּבְשִׁדּוּךְ מָצוּי מְאֹד שֶׁלֹּא יִשְׁמַע לוֹ, וְיָבוֹא הַדָּבָר אַחַר כָּךְ רַקּ לִרְכִילוּת.
Similarly, if it was heard about the house of his [prospective] father-in-law that it is a house of pritzuth [immodesty] – and it is well known that this is a great cause for missing the desired end [of the marriage] – in this instance, too, the thing must be revealed, and in this, the aforementioned conditions [for revelation] do not obtain. But he [the potential revealer] must first reflect upon whether his words will be heeded, for in a shidduch it is very often found that they are not heeded, and it is inevitable that [in such an instance] revelation will lead only to rechiluth.
И также если известно о доме стороны, с которой сватаются, что это дом распущенности, и это общеизвестно является серьёзной причиной, способной погубить через это желаемую цель — тоже необходимо открыть это. И в данном случае не требуются вышеупомянутые условия (смотри в «Беэр Маим Хаим», подпункт 9). Лишь пусть обдумает, будут ли его слова приняты, ибо в сватовстве весьма часто бывает, что его не послушают, и дело обернётся затем лишь рехилутом.
