וּמִפְּנֵי זֶה הָיָה תְּחִלַּת דִּבְרֵי הָאֱלֹהִים אֵלֵינוּ עַל הַר סִינַי (שמות כ׳:ג׳) אָנֹכִי ה׳ אֱלֹהֶיךָ לֹא יִהְיֶה לְךָ אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְגוֹ׳ וְהִזְהִירָנוּ אַחַר כֵּן עַל יַד נְבִיאוֹ בְּאָמְרוֹ (דברים ו) שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל ה׳ אֱלֹהֵינוּ ה׳ אֶחָד.
Because of this, G-d's first words to us at Mount Sinai were: "I am the L-ord your G-d...you shall not have other gods before Me", and later on He exhorted us through His prophet saying: (Shema Yisrael..) "Hear O Israel the L-ord, is our G-d, the L-ord is One" (Deut. 6:4)
И потому начало слов Б-га к нам на горе Синай (Шмот 20:3): «Я — Г-сподь, Б-г твой; да не будет у тебя других богов» и т.д. И Он предостерёг нас после этого через Своего пророка, сказав (Дварим 6): «Слушай, Израиль, Г-сподь — Б-г наш, Г-сподь — един».
