וְכָרָאוּי לוֹ כְּפִי הַצֹּרֶךְ אֵלָיו וְיַעֲזֹר עַל הִשְׁתַּמְּשׁוֹ בְּכָל א׳ מֵהֶם בְּחָכְמַת הַשִּׁמּוּשׁ וּבְחָכְמַת הַמּוֹפֵת אֲשֶׁר בְּחָכְמַת הַדִּבֵּר שֶׁמֵּהֶם תִּהְיֶינָה הַהַקְדָּמוֹת לַחָכְמָה הָאֱלֹהִית כִּי מִי שֶׁאֵינוֹ בָּקִי בָּהֶם אֵינוֹ מַכִּיר סִימָנֵי חָכְמַת הַבּוֹרֵא בִּבְרִיאוֹתָיו וְלֹא יֵדַע עִנְיְנֵי גּוּפוֹ כָּל שֶׁכֵּן זוּלָתוֹ כַּאֲשֶׁר זִמֵּן הָעֶבֶד הַזָּרִיז כְּלֵי בַּעֲלֵי הַמְּלָאכוֹת לְהַשְׁלִים מָה שֶׁכִּוֵּן לַעֲשׂוֹתוֹ מִן הַמֶּשִׁי שֶׁל הַמֶּלֶךְ.
Just like the industrious servant provided skilled craftsmen's tools in order to carry out his intentions in the manufacture of the silk of the king, so too, in each of these divisions, the intelligent man will use the help of the practical sciences, the science of logic, the science of language, etc. which he will employ as introductory to the science of theology. For one who is not knowledgeable in them cannot recognize the wisdom of the Creator in nature, and will not know the physical workings of his own body, much less for what is outside himself.
И как подобает, согласно потребности в нём. И поможет ему в использовании каждой из них прикладная наука и наука о доказательстве, относящаяся к науке о речи, которые служат введениями к Б-жественной мудрости. Ибо тот, кто не сведущ в них, не различает знаков мудрости Творца в Его творениях и не знает устройства своего тела, тем более — иного. Подобно тому как расторопный слуга подготовил инструменты мастеров, чтобы довершить то, что он намеревался сделать из царского шёлка.
