בְּחֹן אָחִי הַמָּשָׁל הַזֶּה וַהֲשִׁיבֵהוּ אֶל מַחְשַׁבְתְּךָ וְהִתְבּוֹנֵן מִסֵּפֶר תּוֹרַת אֱלֹהֶיךָ מָה שֶׁהַעִירוֹתִיךָ עָלָיו וְהֵעָזֵר לְהַשִּׂיג אוֹתוֹ בִּקְרִיאַת סִפְרֵי הַגָּאוֹן רַבֵּינוּ סְעַדְיָה זַ״ל שֶׁהֵמָּה מְאִירִים הַשֵּׂכֶל וּמְחַדְּדִים הַבִּינָה וּמוֹרִים הַפֶּתִי וּמְזָרְזִים הֶעָצֵל.
Examine, my brother, this analogy. Ponder it in your thoughts. Deduce from the Book of G-d what I have called to your attention. Seek help in this by reading the books of Rabeinu Saadiah Gaon which enlighten the mind, sharpen the understanding, instruct the ignorant, and arouse the lazy.
Вдумайся, брат мой, в эту притчу и верни её в свои мысли. И размышляй из книги Торы твоего Б-га о том, на что я тебя пробудил. И помоги себе в постижении этого чтением книг гаона рабейну Саадьи, да будет благословенна его память, которые озаряют разум, и оттачивают понимание, и наставляют простодушного, и побуждают ленивого.
