וְכָל הַמִּצְוֹת הֵם נֶחֱלָקוֹת לְמ״ע וּלְמִצְוֹת לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה. וְאֵין אָנוּ צְרִיכִין לְבָאֵר אֶת זֶה בְּמִצְוֹת הָאֵבָרִים מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהֵם יְדוּעוֹת לַכֹּל. אֲבָל אֲנִי זוֹכֵר מִמִּצְוֹת עֲשֵׂה וּמִצְוֹת לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה שֶׁבְּחוֹבוֹת הַלְּבָבוֹת מָה שֶׁיִּזְדַּמֵּן לִי כְּדֵי שֶׁיִּהְיֶה דִּמְיוֹן לְמָה שֶׁלֹּא אֶזְכֹּר מֵהֶם בעזה״י.
All the precepts are either positive commandments or negative commandments. We do not need to explain this for the duties of the limbs because these are universally known. I will, however, with G-d's help, mention of the positive and negative commandments of the duties of the heart to serve as examples of those not cited.
И все заповеди делятся на повелительные заповеди и запретительные заповеди. И нам нет нужды разъяснять это в отношении обязанностей органов тела, поскольку они всем известны. Но я упомяну из повелительных и запретительных заповедей, относящихся к обязанностям сердец, то, что мне удастся, дабы послужило примером для того, что я не упомяну из них, с Б-жьей помощью.
