וּכְבָר אָמַר הֶחָכָם בָּעִנְיָן הַזֶּה (שם יב) דִּבְרֵי חֲכָמִים כַּדָּרְבֹנוֹת וּכְמַשְׂמְרוֹת נְטוּעִים בַּעֲלֵי אֲסֻפּוֹת דִּמָּה הֶחָכָם דִּבְרֵי הַחֲכָמִים לְדָרְבוֹנוֹת בְּעִנְיַן הַהֶעָרָה וְדִמָּה אוֹתָם לְמַסְמְרוֹת נְטוּעִים בַּעֲלֵי אֲסֻפּוֹת בַּעֲבוּר קִיּוּם עִנְיְנֵיהֶם בַּלְּבָבוֹת וְקִיּוּם אָפְנֵי הַחָכְמָה בָּהֶם.
The wise man already said on this subject: "The words of the wise are like goads; and like nails, firmly fixed, are the compilers (Baale Asufoth)" (Koheles 12:11). The words of the wise are compared by the sage to goads, because they arouse and stir up; they are also compared to nails firmly fixed, because they fix wisdom in their hearts always, and their wisdom endures in them.
И уже сказал мудрец об этом (Коэлет 12:11): "Слова мудрецов подобны стрекалам и вбитым гвоздям — собранные [мудрецами]". Уподобил мудрец слова мудрецов стрекалам в смысле пробуждения, и уподобил их вбитым гвоздям — собранным [мудрецами] — ради укрепления их содержания в сердцах и утверждения путей мудрости в них.
