וְאוֹמַר תְּחִלָּה בְּחִיּוּב הַתְּשׁוּבָה וְהַצֹּרֶךְ אֵלֶיהָ שֶׁכְּבָר נִתְבָּרֵר לָנוּ מִדֶּרֶךְ הַשֵּׂכֶל וּמִן הַכָּתוּב בַּתּוֹרָה כִּי הָאָדָם מְקַצֵּר מֵעֲשׂוֹת מָה שֶׁהוּא חַיָּב בּוֹ מֵחוֹבוֹת הַבּוֹרֵא.
I will start with the obligation and necessity for repentance. For it is already clear to us through reason and scripture that a human being falls short in the fulfilment of his service to the Creator which he is under duty to perform.
И скажу сначала об обязательности Тшува (Teshuva) и о нужде в ней: ведь уже прояснилось нам из пути разума и из написанного в Тора (Torah), что человек не дотягивает до того, чтобы делать то, к чему он обязан из обязанностей Творца.
