אמרה הנשמה – עדיין יש לי מקום מעט לשאלה, למה אנו צריכים לומר שהכל עומד על ענין היחוד הזה? הלא טובה הסברא הראשונה אשר שמעתי מפיך בתחלת דבריך, שרצה הקב"ה להטיב הטבה שלמה אל נבראיו, וראה שצריך לזה שיקבלוה בזכות ולא בצדקה, על כן שם השכר והעונש בעולם, כדי שיקבלו הטובה בשכרם, וכנגד זה שם רק הבחירה כדי שיהיה מקום לשכר ועונש:
Said the Soul - I still have a small place for a question, why do we need to say that everything is dependent on this Singularity? Is the first explanation that I heard from you at the beginning of your words better, that the Holy One blessed is he wanted to bestow complete goodness upon his creations, and saw that it was need for this that they receive it through merit and not in charity, therefore he placed reward and punishment in the world, in order that they received the goodness through their merit, and in contrast to this he only placed free choice in order to give space for reward and punishment:
Сказала Нешама (Душа): всё ещё есть у меня немного места для вопроса: почему нам нужно говорить, что всё стоит на этом вопросе единства? Ведь хороша первая идея, которую я услышала от тебя в начале твоих слов: что Святой, благословен Он, захотел сделать полное добро Своим творениям и увидел, что для этого нужно, чтобы они получили его по заслуге, а не как милостыню; поэтому Он установил награду и наказание в мире, чтобы они получили добро как свою награду, и напротив этого установил только выбор, чтобы было место для награды и наказания.
