רמ״ח תבות: ואולם עוד תיקון א׳ נכלל בכלל קריאת הפרשיות האלה והוא לתקן האדם כל פרטי בחינותיו באור יחודו ית׳ וכן לתקן בו כל פרטי הבריאה וזה כי הנה כלל בחינותיו של האדם הם רמ״ח והם רמ״ח אברים שלו ואולם חלקי הבריאה ג״כ לפי כונניותיהם הם רמ״ח בהקבלה לרמ״ח איברי האדם ואלו ואלו צריך שיתקנו באור יחודו ית׳ וזה נתקן ע״י רמ״ח תיבות שבק״ש:
The two hundred and forty-eight words: However there is another refinement included in the recitation of these passages. And that is to refine man in all of his aspects in the light of His Unity - as well as to refine all parts of the creation. This is since the sum of all of the specific aspects of man are truly two hundred and forty-eight, which [corresponds] to his two hundred and forty-eight limbs. Moreover, the parts of creation are also two hundred and forty-eight - according to their foundations - parallel to the two hundred and forty-eight limbs of a man. And both these and those require refinement from the light of His Unity, may He be blessed. And the refinement is through the two hundred and forty-eight words in the recitation of Shema.
248 слов: Ещё одно исправление заключено в совокупности чтения этих отрывков — а именно: исправить все частные аспекты человека светом Его единства и также исправить через него все частности творения. Ибо совокупность аспектов человека составляет 248 — это 248 его органов. А части творения по их устройству также составляют 248 — в соответствии с 248 органами человека. И те и другие должны быть исправлены светом Его единства, и это совершается посредством 248 слов в чтении Шма.
