פרשה ראשונה דקריאת שמע: ואמנם שאר הפרשיות הנה הם השלמת זה הענין ונכלל הענין בג׳ עיקרים והם קבלת עול מלכותו ואהבתו קבלת עול מצות וזכירת יציאת מצרים. הפרשה ראשונה בה יתכוין האדם להתחזק באהבתו ית׳ בכל תנאיה דהיינו בכל לבבך ובכל נפשך ובכל מאדך ולהמשיך הארת קדושתו ית׳ ועול מלכותו ית׳ לבניו ולכל צאצאיו והיינו ושננתם לבניך. וליתקן בכל בחינות מצבו של האדם דהיינו בשבתך בביתך ובלכתך וכו׳ ולתקן בזה בחי׳ הבית שלו והיינו וכתבתם וכו׳:
The first passage of the recitation of Shema: And truly, the other passages are the completion of this matter. And the matter consists of three principles. And they are the acceptance of the yoke of His Kingship and love for Him; acceptance of the yoke of commandments; and remembering the exodus from Egypt. In the first passage (Deuteronomy 6:4-9), a man should have the intention to strengthen his love for Him, may He be blessed, under all conditions - meaning "with all your heart, with all your life and with all your power." [Likewise,] to bring down the emanation of His holiness, may He be blessed, and His Kingship, may He be blessed, to his children and to all of his progeny - that is, "And you shall teach them to your children." [And likewise also] to refine oneself in every type of state that a man is in - which is "when you sit in your house and when you walk, etc." And to refine the aspect of his house - and that is "And you shall write, etc."

Весь предмет заключён в трёх основах: принятие ига Его царства и любовь к Нему, принятие ига заповедей и упоминание исхода из Египта. В первом отрывке человек намеревается укрепиться в любви к Нему, да будет Он благословен, со всеми её условиями — "всем сердцем своим, и всей душой своей, и всем достоянием своим" — и привлечь озарение Его святости и иго Его царства на своих детей и на всё своё потомство, — и это "И внушай их детям своим." А также исправить все аспекты положения человека — "когда ты сидишь в доме своём и когда идёшь" и т.д. — и исправить через это аспект его дома, — и это "и напиши их" и т.д.
