והנה חילוקי מדריגות הרבה יש בענין כחות הרע שזכרנו והנשפע מהם ובדרך כלל נקרא לנשפע מהם טומאה חשך וזוהמא או חול וכיוצא. ולנשפע מהארת פניו ית׳ נקרא קדושה וטהרה אור וברכה וכיוצא בזה אבל בהבחנת פרטי הענינים נבחין מיני הסוגים האלה ופרטיהם שעליהם סובבת כל ההנהגה שהאדון ב״ה מנהג את עולמו:
And there are surely many different levels about the matter of the powers of evil that we mentioned, and that which is influenced by them. And generally that which is influenced by them is called impurity, darkness, pollution, mundane or that which is similar. And that which is influenced by the shining of His countenance, may He be blessed, is called holiness, purity, light, blessing and that which is similar to it. But when we distinguish the component matters, we will distinguish all of these types and their components, according to which the Master's oversight, blessed be He, with which He directs His world, depends.
И вот, многочисленные различия ступеней существуют в предмете упомянутых нами сил зла и того, что от них исходит. В общем, то, что исходит от них, именуется Тума (нечистота), тьма, скверна или «хол» (обыденное, несвятое) и тому подобное. А то, что исходит от сияния Его лика, да будет Он благословен, именуется Кдуша (святость), Тагара (чистота), свет, благословение и тому подобное. Но при рассмотрении частностей предметов мы различаем виды этих родов и их подразделения, на которых зиждется всё управление, которым Господин, благословен Он, управляет Своим миром.
