ענין הנפש הנבדלת: אמנם מלבד כל זה נמצא עוד באדם מציאות נפשיי נבדל ועליון מאד ואין התכלית בביאתו באדם אלא לקשרו בשרשים העליונים שיש לו ליקשר שם להיות מעשיו מולידים תולדתם בכחות העליונים בכח גדול ובמציאות הזה נמשך השפע הנשפע אל האדם מן המקורות העליונים וממנו בנפש שזכרנו וממנה בגוף והנפש העליונה מנהגת את התחתונה ופועלת בה הפעולות המצטרכות בכל זמן מזמני האדם לפי היחס שהוא מתיחס והקשר שהוא מתקשר עם העליונים והנה הנפש הזאת מתקשרת בתחתונה והתחתונה בחלק היותר דק שבדם ונמצאו הגוף וב׳ הנשמות מתקשרים זה עם זה:
Regarding the separate spirit: However besides all of this, there is also a separate and highly elevated spiritual element found in man. And its only purpose in coming into man is to connect him to the higher roots, with which he must connect in order for his deeds have an impact on the higher powers. And in this situation, the influence comes to man from the higher sources, and from it to the spirit that we mentioned [previously to this], and from it to the body. So the higher spirit directs the lower one and effects it with all the needed effects for the various times of a man, according to its relation and connection with the higher forces. And behold that that spirit is connected to the lower one, and the lower to the finest portion of the blood. So it comes out that the body and the two souls are all connected with each other.
Суть отделённой души: Однако помимо всего этого в человеке обнаруживается ещё одна душевная сущность — отделённая и весьма возвышенная. Цель её прихода в человека состоит лишь в том, чтобы связать его с высшими корнями, к которым он должен быть привязан, дабы его деяния порождали свои плоды в высших силах с великой мощью. Через эту сущность нисходит изобилие, изливающееся на человека из высших источников, — от неё к нижней душе, о которой мы упомянули, и от той — к телу. Высшая душа управляет нижней и совершает в ней действия, необходимые в каждый из периодов жизни человека, сообразно тому отношению, в котором он находится, и той связи, которой он связан с высшими силами. Эта душа привязана к нижней, а нижняя — к тончайшей части крови, и таким образом тело и две души оказываются связаны друг с другом.
