שלש מאות אמה אורך התיבה חמשים אמה רחבה ושלשים אמה קומתה (בראישת ו, טו). כי כשהאדם מדבר איזה דיבור אזי בתחילה צריך לחשוב רוממות וגדולת הבורא יתברך ואחר כך מגיע לאדם אהבה ויראת שמו יתברך ואחר כך מגיע לעולם התענוג ובזה משפיע שפע על העולמות. ועל אלו השלשה רומז הכתוב קומה היא בהחשב רוממות האל יתברך רוחב אהבה ויראה שמו יתברך והוא מצפון לדרום. אורך, היינו התענוג והשפעה מהבורא על העולמות והוא ממזרח למערב:
Geneis 6:15 “the length of the ark is to be 300 cubits, its width 50 cubits and its height 30 cubits.”[The author continues with the allegorical approach to the data provided by the Torah, presumably because it is clear that the Torah, when providing us with these measurements, intended to convey more than merely the bare facts. Ed.]Whenever a human being makes use of the ability to communicate his thoughts by articulating them, he must first and foremost remember the exalted position of his Creator, the One, Who had endowed him with the power of speech. Having done so, he will likely relate to the Creator with the appropriate amount of awe and love. Subsequent to this, he may appreciate the conveniences G’d’s puts at the disposal of His creatures in this physical universe. The measurements of the ark listed here contain allusions to the three ethical imperatives just mentioned. The measurement given for the height of the ark alludes to G’d’s exalted position G’d occupies in His universe. The width is an allusion to the love and reverence for the Creator due Him; in terrestrial terms this is expressed by the direction north-south; finally, the availability of the various conveniences for man that G’d has provided is alluded to by the description of the length of the ark, i.e. the direction east-west.
«Триста локтей длина ковчега, пятьдесят локтей ширина его и тридцать локтей высота его» (Берешит 6:15). Ибо когда человек произносит какое-либо слово, вначале он должен помыслить о возвышенности и величии Творца, благословен Он. После этого к человеку приходят любовь и трепет пред именем Его, благословен Он. А затем приходит в мир наслаждение, и тем самым он изливает поток блага на миры. И на эти три вещи намекает Писание: «Высота» (кома) — это размышление о возвышенности Бога, благословен Он. «Ширина» (рохав) — это любовь и трепет пред именем Его, благословен Он, и она простирается с севера на юг. «Длина» (орех) — это наслаждение и поток от Творца на миры, и она простирается с востока на запад.
