וְזֶהוּ שְׁלֹשָׁה שָׁבוּעוֹת שֶׁהֵם עֶשְׂרִים וְאֶחָד יוֹם שֶׁבֵּין הַמְּצָרִים, וּכְנֶגְדּוֹ בְּאִילַן לוּז. בִּשְׁבִיל זֶה נוֹהֲגִין לֶאֱכֹל בֵּיצָה בַּסְּעֻדָּה הַמַּפֶסֶקֶת בְּתִשְׁעָה בְּאָב, כִּי הַבֵּיצָה נִגְמֶרֶת בְּעֶשְׂרִים וְאֶחָד יוֹם, כְּמַאֲמַר חֲכָמֵינוּ זִכְרוֹנָם לִבְרָכָה (בכורות ה): תַּרְנְגֹלֶת מוֹלֶדֶת לְעֶשְׂרִים וְאֶחָד יוֹם וְכוּ', וּכְנֶגְדּוֹ בְּאִילַן לוּז. וְזֶהוּ הָעֶצֶם לוּז שֶׁיֵּשׁ בְּעֹרֶף אָדָם, שֶׁיִּשָּׁאֵר אַחַר כִּלְיוֹן הַגּוּף, וּמִמֶּנּוּ יִתְחַדֵּשׁ בִּנְיַן הַגּוּף בִּשְׁעַת תְּחִיַּת־הַמֵּתִים.
2. And this is the Three Weeks, namely the twenty-one days of Between the Straits. Among trees, the counterpart to this is the luz. This is the reason it is customary to eat an egg for the meal before the fast of Tisha b’Av. For an egg matures in twenty-one days, as our Sages, of blessed memory, taught: A hen lays her egg after twenty-one days. Among trees, the counterpart to this is the luz (Bekhorot 8a). This is also the luz bone at the back of a person’s neck. It will remain after the body decays, and from it the body will be built anew at the time of Resurrection of the Dead.
2. И это — Три недели, то есть двадцать один день «Бейн а-Мецарим» (Меж теснин). Среди деревьев соответствием этому является луз. Поэтому есть обычай есть яйцо в трапезе перед постом Девятого ава. Ибо яйцо созревает за двадцать один день, как учили наши Мудрецы, благословенной памяти: курица несёт яйцо спустя двадцать один день. Среди деревьев соответствием этому является луз (Бехорот 8a). Это также кость луз у человека на затылке. Она останется после того, как тело истлеет, и из неё тело будет вновь построено во время Воскрешения мёртвых.
וְזֶהוּ עִקָּר נֶחָמוֹתֵינוּ, בְּחִינַת נַחֲמוּ נַחֲמוּ כַּנַּ"ל, כִּי עַל הַגּוּף נֶאֱמַר (רות ג׳:י״ג): שִׁכְבִי עַד הַבֹּקֶר, שֶׁהוּא עֵת הַתְּחִיָּה. וְהִנֵּה בַבֹּקֶר וְהִנֵּה הִיא לֵאָה (בראשית כ״ט:כ״ה) – הַיְנוּ עֶצֶם לוּז הַנַּ"ל, שֶׁעַל־יָדָהּ נִתְבַּנֶּה הַגּוּף.
And that is our main consolation, the concept of “Nachamu, nachamu,” as mentioned above. For about the body it is stated “lie down until morning” (Ruth 3:13). This refers to the time of the Resurrection. “And when the morning came, look, she is Leah!” (Genesis 29:25)—i.e., the aforementioned luz bone through which the body is rebuilt.
И это — наше главное утешение, понятие «Нахаму, нахаму», как упомянуто выше. Ибо о теле сказано: «ляг до утра» (Рут 3:13). Это относится ко времени Воскрешения. «И было утром — и вот, она Лея!» (Берешит 29:25) — то есть вышеупомянутая кость луз, через которую тело выстраивается заново.
