הַדֶּפֶק דּוֹפֵק וְנוֹקֵשׁ בָּאָדָם. לִפְעָמִים הוּא נוֹקֵשׁ בָּאָדָם וּמַזְכִּיר אוֹתוֹ לַעֲבוֹדַת הַשֵּׁם יִתְבָּרַךְ, בִּבְחִינַת (שיר השירים ה׳:ב׳): קוֹל דּוֹדִי דּוֹפֵק; וְלִפְעָמִים הוּא מַזְכִּיר אֶת הָאָדָם לַעֲבֵרָה, חַס וְשָׁלוֹם,
The pulse knocks and beats in a person. Sometimes, it beats in a person and prompts him to God’s service, as in (Song of Songs 5:2), “The sound of my beloved knocking.” And sometimes, it prompts a person to sin, God forbid.
Пульс стучит и бьётся в человеке. Иногда он бьётся в человеке и побуждает его к служению Б-гу, как сказано (Песнь песней 5:2): «Голос моего возлюбленного стучит». А иногда он побуждает человека к греху, не дай Бог.
כִּי הַדֹּפֶק בָּא מִן הַנְּשִׁימָה, וְהַנְּשִׁימָה בָּא מִן הָאֲוִיר עַל־יְדֵי הַדִּבּוּר, וּכְפִי הַדִּבּוּר, כֵּן נַעֲשֶׂה הַדֶּפֶק, אִם לְטוֹב אוֹ לְהֶפֶךְ:
This is because the pulse comes from the breath, and the breath comes from the air by means of speech. Depending upon speech, such is the nature of the pulse; for good or the opposite.
Ибо пульс исходит из дыхания, а дыхание исходит из воздуха посредством речи. Какова речь — таков и пульс: к добру или, наоборот.
