ב אֲבָל אִי אֶפְשָׁר לָבוֹא לֶאֱמוּנָה אֶלָּא עַל־יְדֵי אֱמֶת, כַּמּוּבָא בַּזֹּהַר (בלק קצח:): וְהָיָה צֶדֶק אֵזוֹר מָתְנָיו וֶאֱמוּנָה וְכוּ' (ישעיהו י״א:ה׳) – הַיְנוּ צֶדֶק, הַיְנוּ אֱמוּנָה. וְאָמְרוּ שָׁם: אֱמוּנָה אִתְקְרִיאַת, כַּד אִתְחַבַּר בָּהּ אֱמֶת:
2. Yet it is impossible to come to faith except through truth. As is brought in the Zohar (III, 198b): “And justice will be a belt for his hips, and faith a band for his loins” (Isaiah 11:5). What then is the difference between justice and faith? The answer given there is: [justice] is called faith when it is bound with truth.
2. Однако невозможно прийти к вере иначе как через истину. Как приводится в Зоар (III, 198b): «И справедливость будет поясом на чреслах его, и вера — перевязью на бедрах его» (Ишая 11:5).
