חמץ בפסח במשהו דהקדושה נקרא בשם מצה והקליפה נקרא בשם חמץ ואין חילוק ביניהם רק המשהו שבין חי״ת לה״א והנה חי״ת וה״א מתחלפים באותיות אחה״ע והענין הוא דזה אינו מצוי שהיצר הרע יסיתנו לעבירה ידועה כי מי ישמע לו רק שמראה לו שהוא מצוה ומחליף לו בין חי״ת לה״א וזהו שאמרו רז״ל הבא ליטהר מסייעין אותו והבא ליטמא פותחין לו ולכאורה אינו מובן הבא ליטמא פותחין לו שמשמע שעושין לו דבר שיוכל ליטמא ואם כן הרי מסייעין אותו אבל הפירוש הוא להיפך הבא לטמא שהיצר הרע מראה לו שהוא מצוה ומחליף לו בין חי״ת לה״א פותחין לו ומראין לו שה״א צריך להיות פתוח למעלה:
...[The prohibition of] Chametz on Passover is any quantity, because holiness is called "matzah" and the husk is called "chametz". And there is no difference between them save for a little quantity which is the difference between the "chet" and the "hey". Furthermore, notice that the "hey" and the "chet" are interchangeable according to alef-chet-hey-ayin. And the issue is that one does not find the impulse to do evil trying to divert someone with an obvious and known transgression, because if it were to do that, who would listen?! Rather, it makes the action look like a mitzvah, exchanging the "chet" by a "hey". And this is why our sages of blessed memory said "one who comes to become ritually pure they help her/him, one who comes to become ritually impure they open for her/him" (Shabbat 104a) and on a first glance this is not simple to understand, it appears that they do something in order that the one that comes to become impure to become impure! But here is the explanation: one who comes to become impure the impulse to do evil makes the action look like a mitzvah, and exchanges the "chet" for a "hey". "They open for him" the "hey" which has an opening at the top.
Хамец (квасное) в Песах запрещён в мельчайшем количестве (бе-машеу). Ибо святость называется именем «маца», а клипа называется именем «хамец», и разница между ними — лишь мельчайшая деталь: разница между буквами хет и гей. А хет и гей взаимозаменяемы в группе букв алеф-хет-гей-аин. Суть в том, что не бывает так, чтобы дурное побуждение соблазняло человека на явный грех — кто бы его послушал! Но оно показывает ему, что это заповедь, и подменяет ему хет на гей. И вот что сказали мудрецы: «Приходящему очиститься — помогают ему; приходящему оскверниться — открывают ему». На первый взгляд непонятно: «приходящему оскверниться открывают ему» — значит, ему делают нечто, чтобы он смог оскверниться, а если так, ведь ему помогают! Но смысл противоположный: «приходящему оскверниться» — дурное побуждение показывает ему, что это заповедь, и подменяет ему хет на гей, — «открывают ему» — показывают ему, что гей должна быть открыта сверху.
