וזהו גם כן מאמר ר״א שלא כמדת הקב״ה מדת בשר ודם מדת בשר ודם אין הקטן יכול לומר לגדול המתן מפני שבמקום שילך מאתו אין שם כבודו אם יהיה כאן לא יהיה שם אבל בהקב״ה כתיב מלא כל הארץ כבודו ולכך ביקש אל נא תעבור כי גם שם הוא כבודו יתברך וגם שם לא אהיה מופסק מדביקתך והיה יכול לומר זאת מפני שלא ילך מאת השם יתברך בכל מקום שילך רק זאת הבקשה היתה שלא יהי מופסק ממנו יתברך שמו שגם שם הוא יתברך כמו שהוא גם כן כאן והבן:
And this is also the meaning of the statement of Rabbi Elazar: “the character of the Holy Blessed One is not like the character of flesh and blood – the character of flesh and blood, the lesser can not say to the greater, ‘Wait,’” because in a place where he walks away his honor is no longer there; if he is here, he can’t be there. But regarding the Holy Blessed One it is written, all the earth is full of God’s glory (Isaiah 6:3) and therefore [Abraham] requested, do not pass by etc. because Blessed God’s Glory is there also, and there too may I not be divided from my Attachment to You. And [Abraham] could say this because he does not walk away from God no matter where he walks; his only request was not to be divided from Blessed God, because Blessed God is there, too, as He is here, and understand this.
И это также слова рабби Элазара: не таково свойство Святого, благословен Он, как свойство плоти и крови. Свойство плоти и крови таково, что малый не может сказать великому: подожди — потому что в том месте, куда он уйдёт от него, нет его славы; если он будет здесь, его не будет там. Но о Святом, благословен Он, написано: «вся земля полна славы Его». И потому он просил «не пройди мимо», ибо и там — слава Его, благословенного, и там тоже он не будет отделён от прилепления к Нему. И он мог сказать это, потому что не уходил от Господа, благословен Он, — куда бы он ни пошёл. Лишь просьба его была в том, чтобы не быть отделённым от Него, благословенно Имя Его, ибо и там Он, благословенный, пребывает так же, как и здесь. И пойми.
