והנה צריך האדם שגם בנפלו ממדריגתו יתאמץ לעלות אל ה׳ באותו מדריגה שהוא עכשיו כי צריך להאמין שמלא כל הארץ כבודו ולית אתר פנוי מיניה ואפילו במדריגה שהוא עכשיו יש גם כן השם יתברך כי לית אחר פנוי מיניה רק שהוא מצומצם מאוד וזהו (תהלים קי״ג, ג׳) ממזרח שמש עד מבואו וגו׳ שהצדיק נקרא שמש כמאמר עד שלא שקעה שמשו של עלי זרחה שמשו של שמואל וכו׳ הרי שהצדיק נקרא שמש וזהו ממזרח שמש דהיינו שהמוח שלו בהיר וזך ודבוק בהשם יתברך עד מבואו דהיינו כשמסתלק הבהירות ונפל ממדריגתו ולעולם צריך להיות מהולל שם ה׳ ולמתאמץ לעלות אל השם יתברך באותו מדריגה שהוא עכשיו:
So a person must, even in falling from his level, make an effort to rise up to God in the level at which he now stands; for one must believe that all the earth is full of God’s glory (Isaiah 6:3) and no place is void of Him, and even on the level at which he now stands, Blessed God is also there because no place is void of Him, only He is very contracted. And this is [the meaning of the verse] From the rising of the sun until it goes down [the LORD’s name is to be praised] (Psalm 113:3), for the tzaddik is called “the sun” as in the teaching, “Before Eli’s sun set, the sun of Samuel the Ramatite had risen etc.” (Yoma 38b), thus a tzaddik is called the sun. And this is [the meaning of] From the rising of the sun, which is when one’s mind is clear and pure and attached to Blessed God, until it goes down, which is when the clarity departs and he falls from his level. But one must always live by the LORD’s name is to be praised, and make an effort to rise up to Blessed God in the level at which he now stands.
И вот, необходимо человеку, чтобы даже упав со своей ступени, он старался подняться к Господу на той ступени, где он сейчас. Ибо нужно верить, что «вся земля полна славы Его» и «нет места, свободного от Него», и даже на той ступени, где он сейчас, тоже есть Всевышний, ибо нет места, свободного от Него, — лишь Он весьма сжат. И это (Теилим 113:3): «От восхода солнца до захода его...» и т.д. — ибо праведник называется «солнце», как сказано: «Прежде чем зашло солнце Эли — взошло солнце Шмуэля» и т.д. — вот, праведник называется солнцем. И это «от восхода солнца» — то есть когда его разум ярок и чист и прилеплён к Всевышнему — «до захода его» — то есть когда удаляется яркость и он падает со своей ступени — всегда должно быть «восхваляемо Имя Господне», и [нужно] стараться подняться к Всевышнему на той ступени, где он сейчас.
