19 יט. ההנחה התשע עשרה: כל מה שיש סיבה למציאותו – הוא אפשרי המציאות מבחינת עצמו. כי אם סיבותיו נוכחות – הוא נמצא; ואם אין הן נוכחות, או שנעדרו, או שהשתנה יחסן המחייב את מציאותו – אין הוא נמצא.
PROPOSITION XIX. A thing which owes its existence to certain causes has in itself merely the possibility of existence: for only if these causes exist, the thing likewise exists. It does not exist if the causes do not exist at all, or if they have ceased to exist, or if there has been a change in the relation which implies the existence of that thing as a necessary consequence of those causes.
19 יט. Девятнадцатая предпосылка: всякое, для существования чего есть причина, возможно в существовании со стороны самого себя. Ибо если его причины наличествуют — оно существует; а если они не наличествуют, или отсутствуют, или изменилось их соотношение, обусловливающее его существование, — его нет.
