My father, my master (OBM) was older than his brother the genius, our teacher Rav Shlomo Zalman (his resting place is in Eden) by seven years and nine days, and was born in 5509, the second day of the holiday of Shavuot, the day that the Torah was given to Israel, and ascended from among us at the age of 72 on the day he was freed, the 14th day of Sivan during the week that B’ha-ah-lote-kha is read, in the year 5581.
