ואחרי הדברים האלה. הלא דמוע תדמע עין כל הירא את דבר ה'. כאשר יכניס בלבו דברים הללו היוצאים מן הלב בעקב ענוה ויראת ה' לחיים. ואם האדם הגדול בתורה. ועמלו היה בתורה. כל ימיו עשה נ"ר ליוצרו. נדמה לו שאין בו יראת ה'. אנן מה נעני אבתריה:
After hearing these words, wouldn’t anyone who is in fear/awe of God cry tears, when these words that came from the heart/mind pierce the heart/ mind, as the final product of humility and awe/fear of God for life68Heb.: v’yir-aht hashem l’chayyim—This is what Reb Itzele entitled this collection of essays. It might be translated variously as “Chayyim’s fear/awe of God” (where “Chayyim” refers to his father), “Fear/awe of God to Enable Life” or “Fear/awe of God for the Living”.? And if the person is great in Torah, and his effort was in Torah, and all his life he gave pleasure to his Former, it will seem to him as if he has no awe/fear of God. And if he said that, what could we say69Paraphrasing Berakhot 31a about ourselves?
И после этих слов — разве не заплачет‑заплачет глаз всякого, кто трепещет слова Г‑спода, когда введёт в своё сердце эти слова, исходящие от сердца, вследствие скромности и страха Г‑спода — к жизни.
