And if I should seek to state the correct amount of praise for the honor of my father—the genius, the righteous, the famous (his soul rests in Eden)—I am naked of the power of understanding to evaluate the extent of his Torah and his righteousness. It’s not within my capacity to adequately recognize it myself, nor to acquaint others with it. My elders, scholars of Torah and geniuses, the greatest of the rabbis of our nation (may their lights continue to illuminate), who knew the powers of his accomplishments in the revealed and the hidden, for them it was pleasant to retell their memories of him, for that is vast. And about his book all will write. And indeed, the righteousness of his ways will fill the earth, and his actions will speak for him.
