ולזאת בבריא' האדם כתיב נעשה אדם בצלמנו כדמותנו והאדם בהולידו את שת כתיב ויולד בדמותו כצלמו. שבעת בריאת האדם ברא הקב"ה כחות השרשין שהן הצל' שיוכל האדם לפעול מעשי המצות כדכתיב לעבדה ולשמרה. ודרשו רז"ל זו מ"ע ומל"ת.
And for that reason when man was created it’s written (Bereshit 1:26) “Let us make man with our tzellem and per our d’moot”. And when Adam birthed Shet it’s written (Bereshit 5:3) “And he birthed with his d’moot and per his tzellem”—That when man was created, the Holy One (blessed be He) created the powers of the roots that are the tzellem, so that a person can perform the actions of the mitzvote, as is written (Bereshit 2:15): “to serve it and safeguard it”504Heb.: l’avda oo-l’shamra. And our sages (OBM) expounded (Zohar Bereshit): “these are the positive mitzvote and the negative mitzvote”.
И поэтому при сотворении человека написано: «Сделаем человека в Нашем цэлем, по Нашему дмут», а о человеке, когда он родил Шета, написано: «и родил по своему дмут, как своему цэлем». Ведь во время сотворения человека Святой, благословен Он, сотворил силы-корни, которые и есть «цэлем», чтобы человек мог совершать дела заповедей, как написано: «чтобы возделывать и хранить её». И наши мудрецы истолковали: это — повелительные заповеди и запретительные заповеди.
