Annotation: And it’s known that even the coupling of kissing, the connection of one spirit-Ruakh to another, only births the souls-Neshama of angels, intelligent and individual520Heb.: sikhli-im nivdalim. And from the coupling of Z’eir Ahnpin and Nookva are birthed the souls of people that are drawn down from the highest of the high to perform their actions on earth with their supernal powers. And it makes sense to see the matter as dependent on the scripture (Kohelet 11:5): “Just as you don’t understand… are like the bones [formed] in the womb, so too you will not understand God’s-Elohi”m actions by which He does everything.” Meaning: God-Elohi”m actions are the actions that God-Elohi”m commands a person to perform so that he should live by their effect, that the action causes everything. And “He does” is the language of rectification of the thing, as in “and he hurried to do it” (Bereshit 18:7), and as in “and he didn’t do his moustache” (Shmuel Bet 19:25).
