הנחש היה מהלך על שתים וקצת דמות אדם עליו תדע שאותן שיודעין להפך אדם לזאב או לחתול ולחמור גלגל העין לא יתהפך וכן הנחש שנשתנה לא נשתנו העינים לכך המפלת כמין נחש אמו טמאה לידה שגלגל עיניו דומין לשל אדם:
The Serpent was walking on two and he had semblance slightly similar to that of a man. You should know that those who are able to turn a man into a wolf, a cat or a donkey - his eyeball does not change and so the serpent who underwent a change - his eyes did not change. Therefore one who miscarried and the fetus had a form of a snake - the mother is ritually impure as one who gave birth because his eyeballs are similar to those of a man.
Змей ходил на двух ногах, и некое подобие человека было на нём. Знай: те, кто умеют превращать человека в волка, или в кошку, или в осла — зрачок глаза не превращается. И так же змей, который изменился — глаза его не изменились. Поэтому «выкидыш в виде змея» — мать его нечиста по законам родов, ибо зрачки глаз его подобны человеческим.
