אדם תפש את חבירו בקהל ואמר לו למה דברת עלי דברים שלא ראית ואמרת כי חברתי עם רשעים והלכתי עמהם ושחקתי עמהם השיב לו הרי אתה בעצמך מעיד על מעשיך ועל מחשבותיך:
There was a certain person who set up a claim against his fellow and said to him "Why did you say things about me that you didn't see, and also you said that I hang around with evil people and I did go with them and laughed with them...?'' The other one replied: "Now you have just testified against yourself concerning your deeds and thoughts."
Один человек схватил ближнего своего при людях и сказал ему: зачем ты говорил обо мне вещи, которых не видел, и сказал, что я водился с нечестивыми, и ходил с ними, и играл с ними? Тот ответил ему: вот ты сам свидетельствуешь о своих делах и о помыслах своих.
