ישב ר' אמוראי ודרש למה אל"ף בראש, שהיא היתה קודמת לכל, ואפילו לתורה:
Rabbi Amorai sat and expounded, “Why is [the letter] Aleph at the beginning [of the aleph-bet]? That she [the letter Aleph] was before everything, even the Torah."
