ומודים הכל שלא נבראו ביום ראשון שלא יאמרו מיכאל היה מותח בדרומו של רקיע וגבריאל בצפונו והקב"ה סודר באמצעיתו, אלא אני ה' עושה כל נוטה שמים לבדי רוקע הארץ מאתי (ישעי' מ"ד כד) מי אתי כתיב אני הוא שנטעתי אילן זה להשתעשע בו כל העולם ורקעתי בו כל וקראתי שמו כל שהכל תלוי בו והכל יוצא ממנו, והכל צריכים לו, ובו צופים ולו מחכין, ומשם פורחים הנשמות בשמחה, לבדי הייתי כשעשיתי אותו, ולא יגדל עליו מלאך לאמר אני קדמתי לך, כי גם בעת שרקעתי ארצי שבה נטעתי ושרשתי אילן זה ושמחתי ביחד ושמחתי בהם, מי אתי שגליתי לו סודי זה:
[Rabbi Levitas ben Tavrus continued,] "And all agree that [the angels] were not created on the first day, lest people might say, 'Michael drew out the south of Heaven, Gabriel [drew out] the north, and the Blessed Holy One is the one who made order in the middle. Rather, I am YHVH, who makes everything, Who stretches out the heavens by myself, who spreads out the land, unaided [מאתי]' (Isaiah 44:24). It is written [as] ‘who is with me’ [מי אתי]. [To say,] 'I am He that planted this tree so that all of the world would delight in it. I laid everything in it, and I called its name 'all,' because everything depends upon it, everything comes out from it, everything needs it, to it everything looks, for it they wait, and, from there, souls fly in joy. I was by myself when I did this. An angel will not be aggrandized on it to say, 'I was before you,' because at the time that I laid out the earth, and planted and rooted this tree in her, I rejoiced together, and I rejoiced in them. Who was with Me [מי אתי] that I revealed to him my secret?'"
И все согласны, что они не были сотворены в первый день, чтобы не сказали, что Михаэль натягивал южную сторону небосвода, а Гавриэль — северную, а Святой, благословен Он, устраивал посередине. Но «Я — Господь, делающий всё, простирающий небеса один, распростирающий землю — от Меня» (Йешаяу 44:24). «Ми ити» (кто со Мной) написано — «мэ-ити» (от Меня). Я тот, кто насадил это дерево, чтобы весь мир наслаждался им, и распростёр в нём всё, и назвал его «Всё», ибо всё зависит от него, и всё исходит из него, и всё нуждается в нём, и на него взирают, и его ожидают, и оттуда души исходят в радости. Один Я был, когда создал его, и пусть не возвеличивается надо Мной ангел, говоря: «Я предшествовал тебе». Ибо даже когда Я распростёр Мою землю, в которой насадил и укоренил это дерево, и вместе радовался, и радовался ими — кто был со Мной, кому Я открыл эту тайну?
