ויחלם והנה סלם מצב ארצה וראשו מגיע השמימה, ר"ל ע"י שהוא מוצב ארצה, מדריגה תחתונה, על ידי זה יעלה ראשו ומגיע השמימה למדריגה עליונה, מאן דזעיר איהו רב (זח"ג קסח.).
He dreamed and behold a ladder was set up on the earth and the head of it reached toward heaven: This means to say, through it being set up on the earth - the lowest level - through this, will his head ascend and reach the heavens to the highest level. "One who is small, he is the great one" (Zohar 3:168b).
«И приснился ему сон: вот лестница, поставленная на земле, и верх её достигает небес» — то есть, благодаря тому, что он «поставлен на земле», на нижней ступени, — через это поднимется его верх и достигнет небес, верхней ступени. «Кто мал — тот велик» (Зоар, часть 3, 168а).
