וְאִם לֹא יָדַע אֶת הַדָּבָר מֵעַצְמוֹ, רַק שָׁמַע מֵאֲחֵרִים, (טז) אֵין לוֹ לְגַלּוֹת, כִּי אִם בְּאֹפֶן שֶׁהוּא מְשַׁעֵר, שֶׁהֶחָתָן לֹא יַעֲשֶׂה דִּין מֵעַצְּמוֹ לְבַטֵּל אֶת הַשִּׁדּוּךְ, רַקּ שֶׁיָּחוּשׁ וְיַחֲקֹר אַחַר זֶה הֵיטֵב, וְגַם בָּזֶה צָרִיךְ הַפְּרָטִים הַנַּ"ל בִּכְלָל ט' סָעִיף ב'.
And if he [the potential revealer] did not know the thing by himself but only heard it from others, he should not reveal it, unless he feels that the groom will not do anything by himself to dissolve the shidduch, but will [only] suspect and investigate carefully. And in this, too, the conditions of Principle IX, section 2 must be satisfied.
А если он не знает этого сам, а лишь слышал от других, (п) ему не следует открывать, кроме как в случае, когда он полагает, что жених не станет самостоятельно расторгать сватовство, а лишь проявит осторожность и тщательно расследует это. И также в этом случае необходимы условия, упомянутые выше в правиле 9, параграф 2.
