וְאָמַר בַּלָּאוִין שֶׁבָּהֶן (שם ה) לֹא תַחְמֹד אֵשֶׁת רֵעֶךָ וְלֹא תִתְאַוֶּה וְגוֹ׳ (ויקרא י״ט:י״ז) לֹא תִקֹּם וְלֹא תִטֹּר (שם) לֹא תִשְׂנָא אֶת אָחִיךָ בִּלְבָבֶךָ וְגוֹמֵר (במדבר טו) וְלֹא תָתֻרוּ אַחֲרֵי לְבַבְכֶם וְאַחֲרֵי עֵינֵיכֶם (דברים טו) לֹא תְאַמֵּץ אֶת לְבָבְךָ וְלֹא תִקְפֹּץ אֶת יָדְךָ וְרַבִּים כָּאֵלֶּה.
Regarding the negative commandments [of the duties of the heart], the torah wrote: "nor shall you covet etc" (Deut. 5:18), "You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge" (Levit. 19:18), "You shall not hate your fellow in your heart" (Levit. 19:17), "and so that you do not seek after your own heart and your own eyes" (Numbers 15:39), "you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor fellow" (Deut. 15:7), and many other similar passages.
И сказано в запретительных заповедях (там же, 5): «Не вожделей жены ближнего твоего, и не желай» и т.д. (Ваикра 19:17): «Не мсти и не храни злобы», «Не ненавидь брата твоего в сердце твоём» и т.д. (Бемидбар 15): «И не следуйте за сердцем вашим и за глазами вашими». (Дварим 15): «Не ожесточай сердца твоего и не сжимай руки твоей». И многие подобные этим.
