וְהַשֵּׁנִי צֵאתָם אֶל העוה״ז וְהֵם נִמְשָׁלִים כִּבְהֵמוֹת סְכָלוֹת וּכְעַיִר כמ״ש הַכָּתוּב (איוב יא) וְעַיִר פֶּרֶא אָדָם יִוָּלֵד וְהִתְגַּדְּלָם בְּטוֹבוֹת הָאֱלֹהִים הָעוֹדְפוֹת וְהִתְגַּלְגְּלָם בָּהֶם עַד שֶׁשָּׁבוּ אֶצְלָם רְגִילוֹת וִידוּעוֹת כְּאִלּוּ הֵם עַצְמִיּוֹת לָהֶם בִּלְתִּי סָרוֹת מֵאִתָּם וְלֹא נִפְרָדוֹת מֵהֶם כָּל יְמֵיהֶם. וְכַאֲשֶׁר יַשְׂכִּילוּ וְתִתְחַזֵּק הַכָּרָתָם יִסְכְּלוּ טוֹבוֹת הַבּוֹרֵא עֲלֵיהֶם וְאֵינָם מְשִׂימִים עַל לִבָּם חִיּוּב הַהוֹדָאָה עָלֶיהָ מִפְּנֵי שֶׁאֵינָם יוֹדְעִים מַעֲלַת הַטּוֹבָה וְהַמֵּטִיב בָּהּ אֲלֵיהֶם.
2. The second reason is that human beings when they come into this world are like foolish beasts and a donkey's colt, as scripture says (Iyov 11:12) "Like a wild donkey's colt is man when born". They grow up with an abundance of continuous and recurring Divine favors which they experience constantly, and to which they become so used to and familiar with that they come to regard these as intrinsic parts of their being, not to be removed or separated from themselves during the whole of their lives. Though their intelligence develops and their mental faculties become strong they foolishly ignore the benefits the Creator has bestowed on them and do not consider the obligation of gratitude for Divine beneficence, for they are unaware of the immense degree of the benefit, and of the infinite greatness of the Benefactor who bestowed it upon them.
Вторая — то, что они приходят в этот мир подобными глупым животным и жеребёнку, как сказано в Писании (Иов 11): «И жеребёнком дикого осла человек рождается». И они возрастают в избыточных благодеяниях Б-жьих, и вращаются в них, пока те не становятся для них привычными и известными, словно они естественно присущи им и не могут быть отняты у них и отделены от них во все их дни. А когда они поумнеют и окрепнет их познание, они пренебрегут благодеяниями Творца к ним и не положат на сердце обязанность благодарности за них, ибо не знают ценности блага и Того, Кто творит им добро.
