וּמִמָּה שֶׁרָאוּי לַעֲמֹד עָלָיו כִּי כָּל מֵטִיב לְזוּלָתוֹ מִבְּנֵי אָדָם מִכָּל הַמִּינִים אֲשֶׁר זָכַרְנוּ אֵין לוֹ יִתְרוֹן עַל מִי שֶׁמֵּטִיב לוֹ אֶלָּא בְּמִקְרֶה מִן הַמִּקְרִים אֲבָל בֶּאֱנוֹשׁוּתָם (ס״א בְּיֵשׁוּתָם) וְעַצְמָם נִמְשָׁלִים וּקְרוֹבִים זֶה לָזֶה בְּעֶצֶם וּבִדְמוּת וּבְחִבּוּרָם וּבְצַלְמָם וְטִבְעֵיהֶם וּבְרוֹב מִקְרֵיהֶם ועכ״ז חַיָּב מִי שֶׁמְּטִיבִים לוֹ מִן הָעֲבוֹדָה לַמֵּטִיב מָה שֶׁסִּפַּרְנוּ.
We should furthermore come to understand that any human being who renders a kindness to another in any of the modes above specified is not superior to the person whom he benefits, except in some incidental detail, while in their humanity and essence they are alike and akin to one another, in substance and form, in physical construct and figure (or mentality - Gen. 1:27) in their natures and in a larger part of what happens to them. Nevertheless the beneficiary, as we have set forth, is under an obligation of service to his benefactor.
И из того, на чём подобает остановиться: всякий, кто делает добро другому из людей любого из упомянутых нами видов, — его превосходство над тем, кому он делает добро, лишь случайно. Но в их человечности (по другому чтению: в их бытии) и сущности они подобны и близки друг к другу по существу, образу, строению, облику, природе и в большинстве их случайных свойств. И при всём том тот, кому делают добро, обязан тем служением благодетелю, о котором мы рассказали.
