ידיעת העתידות על ידי הכוכבים: ואמנם משפטי ההשפעה הזאת של הכוכבים גם הם מוגבלים כפי מה שגזרה החכמה העליונה היותו נאות וקצת מדרכיה נודעים לפי סדרי המבטים והוא מה שמשיגים הוברי השמים. אכן לא כל אמתת סדריה מתגלית בזה ע״כ לא ישיגו החוזים בכוכבים אלא קצת מהענינים העתידים ולא בשלימות וכ״ש כבר יש ביטול לתולדותם כמ״ש ועל זה אמרו ז״ל (ב״ר ה, ג) מאשר ולא כל אשר:
The influence of the stars on events: Nevertheless, the [understanding of the] laws of this influence of the stars is also limited, according to what the Supreme Wisdom decreed to be appropriate. Hence some of its ways are known according to the ways of those that observe it, and this is that which the diviners of the heavens grasp. However not all of its true ways are revealed by this. Hence the stargazers will only grasp some of the future content of the stars - and only partially. And all the more so when there is a nullification of their effects, as we have mentioned. And therefore they, may their memory be blessed, said (Genesis Rabbah 5:3), "'From that' (Isaiah 47:13) and not 'all of that."
Познание будущего через светила: Законы этого влияния светил также ограничены сообразно тому, что Высшая Мудрость определила быть подобающим. И некоторые из её путей известны по порядкам астрологических аспектов, и это то, что постигают астрологи. Но не вся истина её порядков открывается через это. Поэтому наблюдатели светил постигают лишь часть будущих событий и притом не в совершенстве. Тем более что возможна отмена их влияния, как мы сказали. И об этом сказали мудрецы, благословенной памяти: «Из того, что предвещают — но не всё, что предвещают».
