כי תאמר בלבבך רבים הגוים האלה ממני איכה אוכל להורישם לא תירא מהם. ועיין ברש"י שמדקדק על לשון כי. ונראה באמת, כי הכלל הוא אם יבוא לאדם איזה מניעה חס ושלום לעבדות הבורא ברוך הוא העיקר שלא יעלה שום מורא ופחד על ראשו ואז בודאי בעזרת הבורא ברוך הוא לא יזיק לו. וזה הרמז בפסוק כי תאמר בלבבך רבים הגוים האלה ממני, רשאי אתה לומר כן, רק התורה נותן עצה. וזהו הרמז איכה אוכל להורישם, כלומר התורה נותן עצה איכה אוכל להורישם, כלומר על ידי זה תוכל להורישם. לא תירא מהם, ואז בודאי תוכל להורישם:
Deuteronomy 7,17. “When you will say in your heart: ‘seeing that these nations are so much more numerous than I, how can I dispossess them? Do not be afraid.’” It is worth our while to look at Rashi who focuses on the word כי at the beginning of our paragraph. He insists that in this instance the word כי is to be understood as דלמא, “maybe, perhaps.”Rashi has touched on an important psychological principle, namely that whenever we encounter some difficulty in carrying out G’d’s commandments, i.e. serving Him with all our heart, fear is the greatest enemy to serving G’d wholeheartedly. If we can resist fear, G’d will help us to overcome any of these supposed difficulties to serving Him. Questions such as “how can we overcome such a problem as being vastly outnumbered,” are legitimate questions. However, we must not allow such questions to cause us to become fearful of carrying out G’d’s will. Moses’ remedy in three short words is לא תירא מהם, “do not be afraid of them!” If you can master your fear you will certainly be able to drive them out, to dispossess them!”
«Если скажешь в сердце своём: многочисленнее меня народы эти, как смогу я изгнать их? Не бойся их» (Дварим 7:17-18). См. у Раши, который обращает внимание на слово «ки». Представляется, что общее правило таково: если человеку приходит какое-либо препятствие, не дай Бог, для служения Творцу, главное — чтобы он не допустил никакого страха и трепета на себя, и тогда, несомненно, с помощью Творца это не причинит ему вреда.
Таков намёк в стихе: «Если скажешь в сердце своём: многочисленнее меня народы эти» — ты вправе так сказать. Но Тора даёт совет. Таков намёк: «как смогу я изгнать их» — Тора даёт совет, как ты сможешь их изгнать: «Не бойся их» — и тогда несомненно сможешь их изгнать.
