בפסוק ויבא אל הר האלהים חרבה. כי החכמה נקראת חרבה וכן כתוב בהקדמה בספר יצירה להראב"ד ז"ל עיין שם הרמז עד מקום החכמה, ועיקר החכמה היא היראה כדכתיב (תהלים קיא, י) ראשית חכמה יראת ה', וזהו כי ירא מהביט אל האלהים:
Exodus 3,1. “he came to the mountain of G’d, to Chorev.” חכמה, “wisdom,” is also known as חרבה, a point made by the Raa’vad in his introduction to the Sefer Yetzirah describing G’d’s essence. David, in psalms 111,10 defines the basic ingredient of wisdom as reverence for G’d. This is the deeper meaning of Moses having being afraid to “look” at G’d, as reported in verse 6 of our chapter.
На стих «И пришёл он к горе Божьей, к Хореву» (Шмот 3:1). Мудрость именуется «хорев» (пустошь). Так написано и в предисловии Раавада, благословенна его память, к «Сефер Йецира» — смотри там намёк на место мудрости. А суть мудрости — это трепет, как сказано: «Начало мудрости — трепет пред Господом» (Теилим 111:10). И в этом смысл слов «ибо убоялся взглянуть на Бога» (Шмот 3:6).
