כל מעשיך יהיו לשם שמיםוזה מה שאמרו ז"ל (אבות ב, יב): "כל מעשיך יהיו לשם שמים", [כלומר לשם] דבקות בשמים. שלא תעשה שום דבר שאינו מביא מטרה זו של הדבקות. דהיינו שכל מעשיך יהיו להשפיע ולהועיל לזולתך, שאז תבוא להשוואת הצורה עם השמים. מה הוא יתברך כל מעשיו להשפיע ולהועיל לזולתו, אף אתה כל מעשיך יהיו רק להשפיע ולהועיל לזולתך. שזו היא הדבקות השלימה.
“And all your deeds should be for the sake of heaven”This is what the sages meant when they said, “And all your deeds should be for the sake of heaven” (tractate Avot 2:12) for the sake of cleaving to heaven. You must not do anything that does not pertain to the aim of cleaving, that is, all your deeds should be for the sake of bestowing on and giving to another. Then will you achieve similarity of form with heaven. Just as all the actions of the blessed Creator are to bestow and give to others, so all your actions should be only to bestow and give to others; this is complete cleaving.
«Все деяния твои да будут во имя Небес». Вот что сказали мудрецы, да будет благословенна их память (Авот 2:12): «Все деяния твои да будут во имя Небес», то есть ради слияния с Небесами. Не делай ничего, что не ведёт к этой цели слияния. То есть все твои деяния да будут направлены на то, чтобы давать и приносить пользу другим, — тогда ты придёшь к уподоблению формы с Небесами. Как Он, да будет Он благословен, — все Его деяния направлены на то, чтобы давать и приносить пользу другим, — так и ты: все твои деяния да будут лишь давать и приносить пользу другим. Это и есть совершенное слияние.
