היוצא מזה, שכל נשמה היתה מקודם בריאתה בכלל עצמותו ית'. אלא עם הבריאה, דהיינו עם הטבע של הרצון לקבל הנאה שהוטבע בה, קנתה שינוי צורה ונפרדה מהשי"ת, שכל ענינו רק להשפיע. כי שינוי הצורה מפריד ברוחניות כמו הגרזן בגשמיות, כמבואר לעיל. ונמצאת הנשמה דומה עתה לגמרי למשל האיבר הנחתך מהגוף ונפרד ממנו. שאף על פי שמקודם הפירוד היו שניהם, האיבר עם כללות הגוף – אחד, והיו מחליפים מחשבות והרגשות זה עם זה, אבל לאחר שנחתך האיבר מהגוף, נעשו בזה שתי רשויות, וכבר אין אחד יודע מחשבותיו של השני וצרכיו של השני. ומכל שכן אחר שהנשמה נתלבשה בגוף של העולם הזה, נפסקו כל הקשרים שהיו לה מטרם שנפרדה מעצמותו יתברך, וכמו שתי רשויות נפרדות הן.
It transpires that every soul was a part of God’s essence before its creation. Yet with Creation, that is, with the nature of the desire to receive pleasure inherent in it, it acquired a dissimilarity of form and was separated from the Creator, who is entirely about giving. For dissimilarity of form separates on the spiritual plane as the axe does on the material one, as explained above. Thus, the soul now completely resembles an amputated limb that is now severed from the body. Even though before the separation the limb and the whole body were one and used to transmit thoughts and sensations to each other; when the limb was amputated, they became two entities. The one does not know the other’s thoughts and needs. This is truer after the soul was enclothed with the body of this world. All communications it had before it separated from its essence were interrupted, and they are now two different entities.
Из этого следует, что каждая душа до своего создания была включена в Его Сущность, благословен Он. Но с созданием, то есть с природой желания получать наслаждение, запечатлённой в ней, она приобрела изменение формы и отделилась от Всевышнего, вся суть Которого — лишь отдавать. Ибо изменение формы разделяет в духовном подобно топору в материальном, как было разъяснено выше. И получается, что душа теперь полностью подобна притче об органе, отрезанном от тела и отделившемся от него. Ведь хотя до отделения оба они — орган и тело в целом — были одним целым и обменивались мыслями и ощущениями друг с другом, но после того как орган был отрезан от тела, они стали двумя отдельными владениями, и уже один не знает мыслей другого и нужд другого. И тем более после того как душа облачилась в тело этого мира — прервались все связи, которые были у неё до того, как она отделилась от Его Сущности, благословен Он, и они стали как два отдельных владения.
