וְדַע, שֶׁיֵּשׁ אִילָן, שֶׁגְּדֵלִים עָלָיו עָלִים, שֶׁכָּל עָלֶה צָרִיךְ לִהְיוֹת גָּדֵל מֵאָה שָׁנִים, וְהוּא נִמְצָא בַּפַּרְדֵּסִים שֶׁל הַשָּׂרִים, וְקוֹרִין אוֹתוֹ בִּלְשׁוֹנָם "מֵאָה שָׁנִים". וּמִסְּתָּמָא כְּשֶׁגָּדֵל מֵאָה שָׁנִים, בְּוַדַּאי עוֹבֵר עָלָיו מַה שֶּׁעוֹבֵר, וְאַחַר־כָּךְ בְּסוֹף הַמֵּאָה שָׁנִים הוּא יוֹרֶה בְּקוֹל גָּדוֹל כְּמוֹ קְנֵי־שְׂרֵפָה, שֶׁקּוֹרִין "אוֹרְמַאטְיֶע". וְהָבֵן הַנִּמְשָׁל הֵיטֵב:
3. And know! there is a tree on which leaves grow, with each leaf taking a hundred years to mature. This tree, found in the orchards of the nobility, is called in their language “One Hundred Years.” And most likely, when it grows for one hundred years, it endures what it endures. Then afterwards, at the end of the hundred years, it emits a blast, similar to a cannon, called an ormatya. Understand the parable well.
3. И знай! есть дерево, на котором растут листья, и каждый лист созревает сто лет. Это дерево, которое находится в садах знати, называется на их языке «Сто лет». И, по всей видимости, когда оно растёт сто лет, оно претерпевает то, что претерпевает. А затем, после этого, в конце ста лет, оно издаёт выстрелоподобный взрыв, подобный пушке, называемый орматия. Хорошо пойми притчу.
