ו וְכֵן בִּכְלָלִיּוּת בְּנֵי הָאָדָם יֵשׁ בְּחִינַת עֶצֶם וּבָשָׂר, הַיְנוּ שֶׁהֶחָכָם הָאֱמֶת, שֶׁהוּא בְּחִינַת הַנְּשָׁמָה לְהָעָם שֶׁהֵם לְמַטָּה מִמֶּנּוּ, הוּא בְּחִינַת עֶצֶם, וְהָעָם הֵם נֶגְדּוֹ בְּחִינַת בָּשָׂר.
6. Similarly, in the general category of human beings there is the concept of essence and flesh. That is, the true sage—he being the soul of the nation, for they are below him—is synonymous with the essence. Vis-à-vis him, the nation is synonymous with the flesh.
6. Подобно этому, в общей категории людей есть понятие сущности и плоти. То есть истинный мудрец — он душа народа, ибо они ниже его — тождествен сущности. По отношению к нему народ тождествен плоти.
וּכְשֶׁהֵם בִּבְחִינַת בָּשָׂר, כְּמוֹ בְּשַׂר הַגּוּף בְּעֶצֶם הָאָדָם, הֵם שׁוֹמְעִים הַקּוֹל אֲנָחָה, הַיְנוּ קוֹלוֹ שֶׁל הֶחָכָם, וְשׁוֹבֶרֶת גּוּפָם, בִּבְחִינַת אֲנָחָה שׁוֹבֶרֶת וְכוּ', וְעַל־יְדֵי־זֶה יוּכַל לִסְמֹךְ לְהִתְקָרֵב אֲלֵיהֶם, שֶׁהֵם בְּחִינַת בָּשָׂר, בִּבְחִינַת מִקּוֹל אַנְחָתִי דָּבְקָה עַצְמִי לִבְשָׂרִי הַנַּ"ל.
And when they as the flesh of the body is to man’s bone, they hear the sound of sighing—that is, the voice of the sage. It breaks their body, as in, “Sighing breaks a man’s body.” This enables him to come near, to draw closer to them, as in, “From the sound of my sighing, my bone has clung to my flesh.”
И когда они <привязаны к нему> так же, как плоть тела к кости человека, они слышат голос стенания — то есть голос мудреца. Он ломает их тело, как в словах: «стон ломает тело человека». Это даёт ему возможность приблизиться, приблизить себя к ним, как в словах: «От голоса моего стенания кость моя прильнула к плоти моей».
אַךְ כְּשֶׁאֵינָם בִּבְחִינַת בָּשָׂר, אֵינָם שׁוֹמְעִים כְּלָל קוֹל הָאֲנָחָה הַנַּ"ל, וַאֲפִלּוּ אִם שׁוֹמְעִים קוֹלוֹ, אֵינָם שׁוֹמְעִים הַקּוֹל בְּעַצְמוֹ, כִּי אִם קוֹל הֲבָרָה:
But when they are not in the category of flesh, they do not at all hear the above mentioned sound of sighing. And even if they hear , they don’t hear the essence of the sound, but only its echo.
Но когда они не находятся в категории плоти, они вовсе не слышат вышеупомянутого голоса стенания. И даже если они слышат <какой‑то звук>, они не слышат сущности звука, а лишь его отголосок.
