(שַׁיָּךְ לְאוֹת א), שָׁם מְבֹאָר, שֶׁהַמָּמוֹן הוּא בְּחִינַת פָּנִים וְכוּ', עַיֵּן שָׁם:

וְעַל כֵּן אָמְרוּ רַבּוֹתֵינוּ זִכְרוֹנָם לִבְרָכָה: פְּנֵי הָאָרֶץ הֵם הָעֲשִׁירִים, כְּמוֹ שֶׁפֵּרֵשׁ רַשִׁ"י עַל פָּסוּק (בראשית מ״א:נ״ו): וְהָרָעָב הָיָה עַל כָּל פְּנֵי הָאָרֶץ – מִי הֵם פְּנֵי הָאָרֶץ, אֵלּוּ הָעֲשִׁירִים; כִּי הַמָמוֹן וְהָעֲשִׁירוּת הוּא בְּחִינַת פָּנִים כַּנַּ"ל:
Thus our Sages taught: The countenance of the land are the wealthy. As Rashi expounds on the verse (Genesis 41:56), “There was famine across the face of the earth”—who are the “face of the earth”? These are the wealthy. This is because both money and wealth are an aspect of countenance, as explained.
Так учили наши Мудрецы: лик земли — это богатые. Как Раши разъясняет стих (Берешит 41:56): «Был голод по всему лицу земли» — кто такие «лицо земли»? Это богатые. Ибо и деньги, и богатство — это аспект лика, как объяснено.
שָׁם: תַּאֲוַת מָמוֹן הוּא בְּחִינַת חֹשֶׁךְ, אַנְפִּין חֲשׁוֹכִין וְכוּ', עַיֵּן שָׁם. וְכֵן מְרֻמָּז בַּזֹּהַר (מקץ דף קצג.): קֵץ שָׂם לַחֹשֶׁךְ וְכוּ', דָּא זֻהֲמָא דְּדַהֲבָא:
There [the following also relates to section 1]: The desire for money corresponds to darkness, darkened faces…. Study there. This is likewise alluded to in the Zohar (I, 193a): “He puts an end to darkness” (Job 28:3) —this is the dross of gold.
