25 כה. ההנחה העשרים וחמש: רֵאשיוֹת העצם המורכב הפרטי – הן החומר והצורה. ויש הכרח בפועֵל, כלומר מניע שהניע את הנושא עד שהכינו לקבל את הצורה, והוא המניע הקרוב המכין את חומרו של פרט כלשהו.
PROPOSITION XXV. Each compound substance consists of matter and form, and requires an agent for its existence, viz., a force which sets the substance in motion, and thereby enables it to receive a certain form. The force which thus prepares the substance of a certain individual being, is called the immediate motor.
25 כה. Двадцать пятая предпосылка: первоначала единичной составной субстанции — материя и форма. И необходим деятель, то есть двигатель, который двигал носитель, пока не подготовил его к принятию формы; и это — ближайший двигатель, подготавливающий материю какого-либо индивида.
