ואף על פי שהגאוה רעה, אפילו הכי מצוה לאדם שיהיו מלבושיו נקיים, ומאכלו נקי, וכל כליו נקיים, ושלחנו נקי, וגופו נקי, כי הדר התורה – זהו הנקיות. וכל זה יכוין לשם שמים. וכן לעולם יגביה נפשו למעלה, ויתרעם על נפשו תמיד כמה שהוא ממעט עבודת השם. ויהיה זהיר להוכיח את הרבים, ולעמוד נגד הרשעים ולהשפילם לפי יכולתו, ולהודיע תועבתם כדי להתרחק מהם. ואף על פי שדבר זה נראה כמו גאוה, אפילו הכי צריך לעשות כן, אך יכוין לשם שמים. ובתחילה יראה שלא יבוא לידי קלקול במלחמת הרשעים, שלא יצא שכרו בהפסדו. וצריך לבקש רחמים על זה וכיוצא בזה, שידריכהו השם בדרך הישר.
And even though pride is bad, even the most mitzvah for a person to have his clothes clean, and his food clean, and all his vessels clean, and we sent clean, and his body clean, because the splendor of the Torah - this is the cleanliness. And all this will be directed to heaven. And also to the world he will raise his soul up, and will always resent his soul as little as he does little of the work of God. And though this thing seems like pride, even the most should do so, but will be directed to heaven. And at first he will see that he will not be spoiled in the war of the wicked, that his reward will not come out in his loss. And one should ask for mercy on it and so on in it, that the name may guide in the right way.
И хотя Гаава дурна, всё же заповедь человеку, чтобы одежды его были чисты, и пища его чиста, и все его сосуды чисты, и стол его чист, и тело его чисто, ибо великолепие Торы — это чистота. И всё это он направит ради Небес. И также всегда поднимет душу свою вверх и будет роптать на душу свою всегда — насколько он умаляет служение Имени. И будет он осторожен увещевать многих, и стоять против злодеев и унижать их по мере возможности, и объявлять их мерзость, чтобы удалиться от них. И хотя это дело кажется как Гаава, всё же нужно делать так, но направит ради Небес. И сначала посмотрит, чтобы не пришёл к порче в войне со злодеями, чтобы не вышла награда его в ущерб ему. И нужно просить Рахамим о том и о подобном этому, чтобы направил его Г-сподь путём прямым.
