למה ב סתומה מכל צד ופתוחה מלפניה ללמדך שהוא בית לעולם והיינו דקב"ה מקומו של עולם ואין העולם מקומו, ואל תקרא ב אלא בית הדא היא דכתיב (משלי כ"ד ג) בחכמה יבנה בית ובתבונה יתכונן:
[Rabbi Bun continued,] "Why is [the letter] Bet closed on all sides and open in the front? To teach you that it is the house [bayit] of the world and that the Blessed Holy One, is the place of the world yet the world is not His place. Don’t read 'Bet', rather 'bayit'. This what is written, 'With wisdom [בחכמה], a house is built, and with understanding [בתבונה], it is established' (Proverbs 24:3).”
Почему буква бет закрыта со всех сторон и открыта спереди? Чтобы научить тебя, что она — дом для мира. И это означает, что Святой, благословен Он, — место мира, а мир — не Его место. Не читай «бет», а «байт» (дом). Об этом написано (Мишлей 24:3) «Мудростью строится дом, и разумом утверждается».
