ומאי איברים שבע שיש באדם, דכתיב (בראשית ט' ו) כי בצלם אלהים עשה את האדם, וכתיב (שם א כ"ז) בצלם אלהים ברא אותו, בכל איבריו ובכל חלקיו, והא אמרינן ו' למה הוא דומה לעוטה אור כשלמה (תהלים ק"ד ה), דהא ו' אינו אלא שש קצות, א"ל ברית מילה וזוגו של אדם חשבינן חד ושתי ידיו שלשה, ראשו וגופו חמשה שתי שוקיו שבעה, וכנגדן כוחותם בשמים דכתיב (קהלת ז' יד) גם את זה לעומת זה עשה האלהים, והיינו ימים (שמות ל"א יז) כי ששת ימים עשה ה' את השמים ואת הארץ, ולא אמר בששת ימים מלמד כי כל יום ויום יש לו כחו:
"[The students asked,] ""And why are there seven limbs in a person?""[Rabbi Rachumai answered,] ""As is written, 'In the image of Elohim, He created the person' (Genesis 9:6), and it is written, 'In the image of Elohim, He created them' (Genesis 1:27). In all of h/His limbs and in all of h/His portions."" [They objected,] ""Thus we have said: why six?""*[He responded,] ""to 'wrap light like a robe' (Psalms 104:2). These six are six borders.""They said to him, ""Circumcision and the partner of a person, we think of as one, and the two hands are three. His head and body are five, two thighs are seven. Corresponding to them, their forces in heaven, as is written, 'Also, Elohim created this opposite that' (Kohelet 7:14). And these are days, 'That six days, God created the heavens and the earth' (Exodus 31:17). It does not say 'in six days,' teaching that every single day has its strength."*See above, number 57."
А какие органы? Семь, что есть в человеке, ибо написано (Берешит 9:6) «Ибо по образу Божию создал Он человека». И написано (там же 1:27) «По образу Божию сотворил его» — со всеми органами его и частями его. Но ведь мы говорили: на что похожа буква вав? На «облачающийся светом, как одеянием» (Теилим 104:2), ибо вав — это лишь шесть направлений. Сказал ему: обрезание и пара его у человека считается одним, и две руки — три, голова и тело — пять, две ноги — семь. И соответственно им — силы их на небесах, ибо написано (Коэлет 7:14) «Одно напротив другого сделал Бог». И это «дни» (Шмот 31:17) «Ибо шесть дней творил Господь небо и землю». И не сказано «в шесть дней» — это учит, что у каждого дня есть своя сила.
