אֲבָל מַפְסִידֵי הָאַהֲבָה בֵּאלֹהִים רַבִּים מְאֹד. מֵהֶם שֶׁיְּקַצֵּר הָאָדָם בַּהַקְדָּמוֹת אֲשֶׁר תִּתְיַלֵּד מֵהֶם הָאַהֲבָה בַּבּוֹרֵא יִתְעַלֶּה.
The things detrimental to the love of G-d are exceedingly numerous.Among them, that a man falls short in fulfilling the prerequisites from which the love of G-d emerges.
Но губителей любви к Богу — весьма много. Из них — когда человек укорачивает в предисловиях, из которых рождается любовь к Творцу, да возвысится Он.
וּמֵהֶם מַפְסִידֵי הַהַקְדָּמוֹת אֲשֶׁר הִקְדַּמְנוּ לְבָאֲרָם בַּסֵּפֶר הַזֶּה וְאֵינֶנִּי צָרִיךְ לִשְׁנוֹתָם שֶׁלֹּא יֶאֱרַךְ הָעִנְיָן.
Among them, the things detrimental in the previous gates, which we have explained earlier in this book, and it is not necessary to repeat them, so that the matter does not become lengthy.
И из них — губители предисловий, которые мы предварили разъяснить в этой книге; и нет мне нужды повторять их, чтобы не удлинялось дело.
וּמֵהֶם הַשִּׂנְאָה בְּאוֹהֲבָיו וְהָאַהֲבָה בְּשׂוֹנְאָיו כמ״ש (ישעיהו ה׳:כ״ג) מַצְדִּיקֵי רָשָׁע וְאָמַר (משלי יז) מַצְדִּיק רָשָׁע וּמַרְשִׁיעַ צַדִּיק. וְאָמַר (שם כח) עֹזְבֵי תוֹרָה יְהַלְלוּ רָשָׁע. וְאָמַר (שם כד) אֹמֵר לְרָשָׁע צַדִּיק אָתָּה:
Among them, hatred of those who love G-d, and love of those who hate Him, as written: "Should you help the wicked, and love them that hate the L-ord?" (Divrei Hayamim II 19:2), and it says: "...justify the wicked" (Yeshaya 5:23), and "He that justifies the wicked, and he that condemns the just, [even they both are an abomination to the L-ord]" (Mishlei 17:15), and "Those who forsake the Torah praise the wicked" (Mishlei 28:4), and "He that says unto the wicked, you are righteous; [him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him]" (Mishlei 24:24).
И из них — ненависть к любящим Его и любовь к ненавидящим Его, как сказано (Йешаяху 5:23): «Оправдывающие нечестивого», — и сказал (Мишлей 17): «Оправдывающий нечестивого и обвиняющий праведного». И сказал (там же 28): «Оставляющие Тору восхваляют нечестивого». И сказал (там же 24): «Говорящий нечестивому: праведен ты».
