שהאדם יכול להתפתח במקצת מהגופניות: ומכלל הענין הזה עוד כי הנה כבר ביארנו היות האדם הרכבה של ב׳ הפכים גוף ונשמה והנה נגבלה בו הנשמה ונקשרה בחוקים שנקשרה כפי מה שגזר עליה חכמתו ית׳ ונמצא האדם מוגבל במצבו הגופני בחוקות הגוף ומשפטי החומר ונשמתו קשורה בעבותות אלה לא תצא מהם. ואולם רצה האדון ב״ה שיהיה דרך לאדם שיוכל להתפתח במקצת מקשורי הגופניות הזה ושלשלאותיו ויגיעו לו ענינים שלא כמשפט הגופניות אלא כמשפט הרוחניות ועי״ז תגיע לו השכלה והשגה ברוחניים ועניניהם מה שהיה נעדר ממנו לפי מצבו הגשמי וגבוליו וכן תעלה בידו יותר העמדת המצאיות כלם על המצב הטוב הנאות בהם למעלה ולמטה בשרשים ובענפים:
That a man can somewhat develop away from physicality: And also part of this matter is because of that which we already explained that man is a combination of two opposites - the body and the soul - such that the soul is limited and bound by the axioms that are connected to it according to what the Supreme Wisdom decreed about it. So man is limited in his embodied condition by the axioms of the body and the properties of the material; and the soul is bound by these chains, it cannot escape from them. However the Master, blessed be He, desired that there be a way for man to be able to release himself a little from these physical limits and their unfolding, and to reach matters that are not according to the axioms of the physical, but rather like the axioms of the spiritual. And through this, he can reach an understanding of the spiritual entities and their properties, which would have been prevented from him according to his physical condition and its limits. Then he is accordingly more able to bring all of existence to the condition that is good and proper for it - above and below, in the roots and in the branches.
О том, что человек может частично высвободиться из телесности: Из того же разряда следует ещё вот что: мы уже разъяснили, что человек есть соединение двух противоположностей — тела и души. Душа ограничена в нём и привязана теми законами, которые определила для неё Его Мудрость, да будет Он благословен. Человек оказывается ограничен своим телесным состоянием, законами тела и правилами материи, и его душа связана этими узами, не выходя за их пределы. Однако Господь, да будет Он благословен, пожелал, чтобы существовал для человека путь частично освободиться от этих телесных привязанностей и их оков, и чтобы ему открывались явления, не подчинённые закону телесности, но подчинённые закону духовности. Благодаря этому ему становится доступно разумение и постижение духовных сущностей и их свойств — то, что было бы недоступно ему в его материальном состоянии и в его пределах. Также благодаря этому ему более удаётся поддерживать всё сущее в подобающем благом состоянии — наверху и внизу, в корнях и в ветвях.
