לפי המשל הזה יש להבין גם כן מעלת האדם שזכה להדבק בהשי"ת. כי כבר הוכחתי בהקדמה שלי לספר הזוהר אות ט' (זהר ע"פ הסולם כרך א', וכן בחוברת להאדרא זוטא שהוצאתי ביחוד לכבוד ל"ג בעומר; נמצא גם להלן עמ' קסג), שהנשמה היא הארה הנמשכת מעצמותו ית', והארה זו נפרדה מאת השי"ת על ידי שהשי"ת הלבישה ברצון לקבל. כי אותה מחשבת הבריאה 'להנות לנבראיו', בראה בכל נשמה רצון לקבל הנאה, ושינוי צורה זה של הרצון לקבל הפריד אותה הארה מעצמותו ית' ועשה אותה לחלק נפרד ממנו. ותעיין שם במקור, כי אין כאן המקום להאריך בזה.
According to this analogy, we can also understand the virtue of a person who attained cleaving to God. I have already proved in my introduction to the book of the Zohar, section 9 in the first volume (and also in the booklet discussing the Smaller Gathering (Idra Zuta) that I published separately on the occasion of Lag Ba’omer) that the soul is a ray of illumination flowing from God’s essence. This illumination is separated from God in that God enclothed it with the desire to receive. For the plan for Creation to benefit his creatures created in every soul the desire to receive pleasure. And the dissimilarity of form in the desire to receive separated that illumination from God’s essence, making it into a separate part from him. По этой притче можно также понять достоинство человека, удостоившегося слияния со Всевышним. Ибо я уже доказал в моём предисловии к книге Зоар, пункт 9 (Зоар с комментарием Сулам, том 1, а также в отдельной брошюре к Идра Зута, которую я выпустил специально в честь Лаг ба-Омер; см. также далее, стр. 163), что душа — это излучение, исходящее от Его Сущности, благословен Он, и излучение это отделилось от Всевышнего тем, что Всевышний облачил его в желание получать. Ибо та Мысль Творения — «насладить создания» — создала в каждой душе желание получать наслаждение, и это изменение формы — желание получать — отделило то излучение от Его Сущности, благословен Он, и сделало его отдельной частью от Него.
