והמופת הוא שאין שום אדם מתרגש כלל מן הגאולה, כמו שהיה צריך להיות בזמן הגאולה אחרי ב' אלפים שנה. ולא בלבד שאין בני הגולה מתפעלים לבוא אלינו ולהנות מן הגאולה, אלא גם חלק גדול מאותם שנגאלו וכבר יושבים בתוכנו, המה מצפים בכליון עינים להפטר מגאולה זו ולשוב לארצות פזוריהם. הרי שאף על פי שהקב"ה הוציא הארץ מרשות האומות ונתנה לנו, עם כל זה אנו עוד לא קבלנוה, ואין אנו נהנים מזה כלום.
And the proof is that no one is excited about redemption as he should be during the time of redemption for which we have waited two thousand years. Not only are the members of the diaspora not moved to join us and benefit from the redemption, but many of those who were redeemed and are already dwelling among us, are yearning to rid themselves of this redemption and return to the diaspora. Even though the Holy One, blessed be He, has taken the land of Israel out of foreign authorities and gave it to us, we have not yet received it. Nor do we enjoy any of it.
И доказательство этому — что ни один человек совершенно не взволнован избавлением так, как следовало бы быть взволнованным во время избавления после двух тысяч лет. И не только обитатели диаспоры не воодушевлены прийти к нам и воспользоваться избавлением, но и большая часть тех, кто уже избавлен и уже живёт среди нас, — они с нетерпением ждут, когда смогут освободиться от этого избавления и вернуться в страны своего рассеяния. Значит, несмотря на то что Святой, благословен Он, вывел Землю из-под власти народов и отдал её нам, мы ещё не получили её, и мы не пользуемся этим совершенно.
